We wanted to get all the way to Elkhart, Indiana, today, so we were on the road early . . . in spite of the heavy skies, constant rain, sporadic fog, and continuous mist thrown in up in front of us by big trucks. The one fitting comment I can make about today is that it was an "Ugly Drive".The Redbuds along the highway were in bloom, but in the nasty, foggy weather, it was difficult to enjoy their beauty.
We drove roughly 450 miles today and never turned the windshield wipers off. But at least our new windshields did not leak a single drop . . . and that's the only good thing that can be said about today's drive.
We pulled into the Elkhart Campground at about 7:30 PM, having lost an hour on the clock passing into the Eastern Time Zone. Finally, an end to this "Ugly Drive"!
